On 14 October 2026, all consortium partners of the Circulytics research project gathered at the premises of technology and application partner DEUTZ in Ulm. The more than 25 participants were first welcomed by Adarsha Kanchana and Marian Vagaday from DEUTZ. Dr Vinzenz Jeglinsky from roeren then welcomed the attendees on behalf of the consortium lead. Hanna Kolkmann from the DLR project management agency and Malte Reißig from the GreenTech accompanying research team also addressed the consortium.
Andreas Weinberger, project manager for the work packages led by roeren, then provided a comprehensive overview of the research project’s progress to date. A particular highlight was the presentation of the first project milestone achieved:
As part of the “Requirements Analysis” work package, the requirements of all application partners were systematically identified, consolidated and prioritised through a targeted multiple-case study, and compiled into a shared requirements specification. Andreas Weinberger explained the methods used and the key findings. The technology partners also presented updates on their activities in the other work packages.
Following a joint lunch break, Bernd Mayer and Marian Vagaday gave participants an extensive factory tour, offering fascinating insights into DEUTZ’s production operations. The tour focused on the industrial remanufacturing of engines. The meeting concluded with an outlook on the research project’s next steps and upcoming dates.
We would like to extend our sincere thanks to DEUTZ for their hospitality and the insightful look into industrial engine remanufacturing, and to all participants for their active contributions to the discussions at the consortium meeting.
